Make a day of it in Norwalk
Sample Sale Friday & Saturday
We can't wait to open our doors to you this Friday and Saturday! For the first time in almost 13 years, we're selling our wallpaper and fabric inventory at insane discounts. After shopping with us, why not make a day of it and stick around the Norwalk area? Here are some of our favorite places near our studio.
Breakfast, Coffee, and Art
Visit the Norwalk Art Space cafe for the best breakfast, pastry, and coffee around. While you wait for your meal or snack, take a look at their latest exhibition.
Treasure Hunt
We always find something at Fairfield County Antique & Design Center. So many booths filled with a terrific variety of vintage and antique decor. Bonus: it's a thirty second walk down the street from our studio! Leave your car in our lot and take a walk down the road.
Scandinavian Butik is a little tough to spot on busy Main Avenue, but worth the stop. Lots of delicious food items, tabletop decor, presents, homewares, and trinkets straight from Scandinavia.
Grab a bottle of wine from our local wine shop right down the street, Fountainhead. Mike has been in the wine business for decades and is both deeply knowledgable and very unpretentious. He'll find you a unique and delicious option for whatever budget you have. His wine club and accompanying newsletter are two of our favorite things about living in Norwalk.
Lunch or Afternoon Snack
Arden's in Rowayton is one of our new favorites for lunch and coffee. They also have a cute selection of pantry and home items to take home. Take your coffee to go and walk to nearby Bayley Beach, Rowayton's local public beach. Fun fact: back in the day, Bayley Beach used to be an amusement park.
A Sweet Treat & Sea Snax
Mr. Frosty in Norwalk is our favorite local ice cream stand. Outdoor seating only, so bundle up until spring! Right next door is another favorite: Knot Norms, which has excellent seafood and a very laid back atmosphere.
Casual Aperitif
Visit Gray Area at the Mercantile at Graybarns for a casual cocktail, glass of wine, and snack! You can also pick up some fresh veggies, eggs, milk, and other treats while you're there.
A bit further afield, but the tea room at Grace Farms (in New Canaan, near the Pound Ridge border) is one of our favorite places for an afternoon break. Have some tea and spend time wandering through their breathtaking architecture.
Dinnertime
After a cocktail at Gray Area, walk over to the Tavern at Graybarns for a wonderful farm-to-table meal and chic, calm atmosphere.
Valencia serves up some of the best arepas around. Much like their atmosphere, their cocktails are also fresh, fun, and strong.
Coals is right down the street from our studio. Their grilled pizza is excellent, as are their wings.
Bringing Your Kids? They deserve fun, too.
Stepping Stones Children's Museum is right around the block from our studio, as is the Maritime Aquarium.
We have so many local favorites. Just ask us: we're always happy to point you in the direction of something we think you'd like!
